Eiermann 1 M from Richard Lampert
Eiermann M & Eiermann E is the long-awaited evolution of the legendary original Eiermann 1 table frame. As a tribute to the legacy of an influential, internationally recognised piece of furniture and inspired by the functionality of 3D printers, which adjust the printing level using spindle drives, young designer Tim Schütze realised his idea of adapting the iconic table to today's requirements.
The result: the archetypal classic with its eccentric cross will soon be available from Richard Lampert as a mechanically and electrically height-adjustable model. Thanks to thicker tubing, the new versions are particularly stable. The frame thus remains pure in design and functional – and moves towards modern working and living.
For over seven decades, the Eiermann table has been a symbol of clear design, functionality, and timeless modernity. With a new, height-adjustable version, a new chapter in the history of this classic is now beginning. Architect Egon Eiermann originally designed the table in 1953 for his own office. It quickly became a favorite in studios and architecture offices worldwide. Its characteristic construction—the tubular steel frame with slanted cross struts—made it a milestone of functionalist modernism: light, robust, uncompromisingly precise.
Almost three generations later, we at Richard Lampert are continuing this tradition. We have been manufacturing the Eiermann table under original license since the 1990s – and from 2025, we will be presenting its logical further development: the height-adjustable Eiermann M (mechanical) and Eiermann E (electric). We worked with designer Tim Schütze for three years to bring this to fruition. The idea was born during his master’s studies at the Berlin University of the Arts: a movable Eiermann table inspired by the technology of 3D printers.
The height of the Eiermann M is adjusted manually using a precise spindle-belt system. For maximum stability, we have increased the tube thickness of the frame to 28 mm, and the frame is firmly soldered. This preserves the unmistakable silhouette while offering new freedoms for modern working.
In the version offered here, Eiermann M is mechanically adjustable and equipped with different table tops.
