8 (Modular sofa) from Cassina
Timeless comfort and elegance distinguish the minimalist, versatile proportions of 8, defined by a modular structure that combines masterful construction and fine tailoring in every aspect of the product. The family expands to include a three-seat sofa, chaise longue, ottoman, two-seat bench and a three-seat end unit, all available in standard or large dimensions.
The extruded aluminium base makes it possible to compose elements of various lengths, for a broad choice of configurations. Insertion of the upholstery in the central opening of the flexible panels, executed by hand with millimetric precision, is an example of Cassina’s artisanal expertise. The upholstered products are consciously crafted from circular materials like blown recycled polyester fibre.
The modular sofa range 8 is available with high-quality, removable fabric or leather covers. The aluminium frame is available in four different colour designs and is fitted with plastic glides.
Cassina
Founded by Cesare and Umberto Cassina in Meda in 1927, the company launched industrial design in Italy during the 50’s by taking a completely new approach which saw a shift from handcraftsmanship to serial production. The company was pioneering in the way that it showed a striking inclination for research and innovation, combining technological skill with traditional craftsmanship.
