M38 from tecta
Bears the burden of heavy thoughts and is a true workhorse for any task. The new table by Andree Weißert: M38 with an oiled fibre cement table.
Concrete is a popular material, but a bit heavy. When Andree Weißert was looking for a new material for a tabletop, his investigations took him to his favourite playground – the building site. Eternit – rough, neutral and lightweight – was the solution. This led to the creation of a cement board with a strength of 10 millimetres. Straightforward, oiled and better with use. The rest is pure craftsmanship: a steel frame that speaks more of work than its appearance betrays. Completely welded, seamlessly joined. A table like something a child would draw – a construction that is clever and simple, and extremely flexible.

Tecta is a furniture company based in German Lower Saxony. With the protection and innovative continuation of original Bauhaus models they selected a very prominent field of activity and a very fastidious one. Released by the avant-garde of the 1920s as an risky venture in small-scale production, Tecta managed it exclusively to produce in larger scales today. This has been authorized officially by the Bauhaus archive in Berlin. So Tecta belongs to the leading names when it comes to Bauhaus furniture.
