Swan™ anniversary edition from Fritz Hansen

The beautiful Swan™ armchair was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the lobby and lounge area of the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The design contains no straight lines, so despite its simplicity and strong architectural look, it appears organic and soft.

The anniversary collection is a careful selection of the most legendary designs from 150 years of company history. To celebrate this occasion, we are launching the Swan™ armchair with a black coating used for the first time for the frame and in exclusive upholstery fabrics.

The Swan™ armchair in our anniversary collection is equipped with a PVD-coated black frame that is being used for the first time in the furniture industry. The upholstery is Grace - Chestnut leather, a brand new colour with a distinctive maroon shimmer, exclusively designed by Sørensen Leather for Fritz Hansen. Alternatively, Swan™ armchair is upholstered in Vanir fabric in Granite Brown (373), designed by fashion designer Raf Simons for Kvadrat. A new upholstery fabric that will be available in this colour exclusively from Fritz Hansen in 2022.

Each Swan™ armchair in the anniversary collection receives its own anniversary plaque.
