Minimalism with a twist - This headline could sum up the creative work of Miya Kondo. A Canadian, she first studied free arts at McGill University in Montreal, then product and furniture design at the Academy in Eindhoven, Netherlands. After an interim period spent in Stockholm, Miya Kondo launched out as a freelance designer. Her work attracts considerable attention, notably the lighting installations that can be seen in fashion designer Stella McCartney's stores all over the world. Miya Kondo, who has her design studio in Rotterdam, has succeeded uniquely in making light a spatial experience. Schönbuch now presents FRAME, her purist lighting creations.
